🔍 When is it ripe?
Background skin colour shifts from green toward yellow; seeds turn brown when ripe. Fruit separates from the spur with a gentle upward twist. Aroma develops near the base. Wild Malus fruit is often small and tart — excellent for cider and jelly.
I checked with the school (Denver Center for International Studies) and they do not spray the tree. I harvested 9 lbs. of fruit this past weekend (early August). Fruits are large and blushed red. Tree is located by a main entrance, on 6th Ave.
