🔍 When is it ripe?
Background skin colour shifts from green toward yellow; seeds turn brown when ripe. Fruit separates from the spur with a gentle upward twist. Aroma develops near the base. Wild Malus fruit is often small and tart — excellent for cider and jelly.
Green apple tree beside the Hoggs Dairy at the corner of Old Lake Shore Rd and Route 5. May be private but they never pick the fruit so asking might be helpful.
