Green Gage plum tree - the original plums used to make the holiday treat "sugarplums" - quite delectable. The tree is in the house's yard, but many branches laden with fruit hang over into the alley. These ripen earlier than many plums; very sweet, almost custardly before over-ripening; try them with goat cheese and honey (unless your vegan) or just eat them as is.
