🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep purple-black when ripe; intensely flavoured and juicy. Spread a tarp and shake the tree — ripe fruits fall immediately. Stains everything permanently — wear old clothes. Do not pick unripe red berries (mildly hallucinogenic).
On the path between the park and the high-school. I put public, but keep in mind Park hours and the fact that it's on the edge of school grounds - easy access though. Very juicy, occasionally some competition from birds and squirrels. Usually two batches of ripe berries.
