🌳
American persimmon
📍 4031 Honey Bear Loop, Round Rock, TX 78681, USA
🗓 Season: October · November · December
🔍 When is it ripe?
Must be fully ripe (very soft, almost jelly-like) before eating. Harvest after first frost or when naturally falling. Dark orange to purple when ready. Rich, caramel-sweet flavour.
Near dead tree and has grape Vines on top. Fruit currently green.
3/1/26 - the original tree appears dead. There are 3-4 saplings nearby that could be persimmons, but they may also be Chinese tallow. Groves of similar trees in a nearby creek seem to be tallow.
