🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
Excellent supply of tasty blackberry bushes surrounding the field behind the church on the corner of Yale Street and South 5th Avenue. The church owns the property, but you can ask them and pick all the blackberries you'd like.
