🔍 When is it ripe?
Bright to deep red, slightly translucent. Firmer than sweet cherries when ripe. Strong tart flavour — avoid if still pale or streaked green. Harvest before birds; fruits hang briefly after colouring.
Sour Cherry tree at corner of Alcott lot. Had to meander my way in past a gate, because school was out for the summer. Worth it. Huge yield, minimal pests, and solid quality.
