Black elderberry
📍 1505 30th St, Boulder, CO 80303, USA
🗓 Season: August · September
🔍 When is it ripe?
Clusters of deep purple-black berries; cut entire clusters. Never eat raw — cook thoroughly (destroys sambunigrin). Ripe when all berries on the cluster are uniformly dark and the cluster droops. High in antioxidants; excellent syrup.
Very aromatic flowers to use for elderflower syrup.
EDIT: Either you put the location down wrong or you are a terrible identifier. This is an ornamental apple tree. Thanks for the lead
