🔍 When is it ripe?
Rose hips (swollen seed pods) ripen to red or orange after flowering. Pick when fully coloured and slightly soft. Remove the seeds and hairs inside (irritating). Very high in vitamin C; excellent for syrup, tea, and jelly. Leave some for birds in winter.
This rose bush is set back from the road between Burrito Me and the bank; it's in a well-groomed and mulched area. I'm unsure of the variety of rose, due to the fact it looks like some sort of hybrid or cultivated variety. However, this bush has quite the hips.
