🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
There are wild blackerries growing all along the bank of the river. You can access them from inside the park by just going over the hill or park in the parking lot and head towards the river bank. You'll see them!
