Orange
🗓 Season: November · December · January · February · March
🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully orange skin (can be green-tinged in warm climates and still ripe). Heavy for its size, with a smooth, slightly glossy skin. Scratch and sniff — a sweet orange smell confirms ripeness. Navel oranges develop the distinctive navel opposite the stem.
An orange tree right in front of the house. Neighbor is more than glad to share and let you pick. A fruit picker would be ideal here since the tree is quite tall.
The oranges have a sweet tangy flavor but not candy-sweet like store bought ones. Their skin is a little darker but keep very well for longer periods of time.
