🔍 When is it ripe?
Bright to deep red, slightly translucent. Firmer than sweet cherries when ripe. Strong tart flavour — avoid if still pale or streaked green. Harvest before birds; fruits hang briefly after colouring.
Sour or tart cherries that are perfect for baking and making juice. Don't eat to many at once if you aren't used to them! The trees are on city land so you don't have to ask first, but you do have to bring a ladder and be gentle with the trees. Many berries up high that can't get reached so having help is a good idea. Don't drive on the grass, do park the truck under the trees!
