🍎
Apple (Malus)
📍 42 Churchfields Rd, Salisbury SP2 7NW, UK
🗓 Season: August · September · October · November
🔍 When is it ripe?
Background skin colour shifts from green toward yellow; seeds turn brown when ripe. Fruit separates from the spur with a gentle upward twist. Aroma develops near the base. Wild Malus fruit is often small and tart — excellent for cider and jelly.
The apples fall onto the bank between the building and the road, its a steep bank so be careful not to fall into the road, it can be a busy road. There are apples every year, I have never seen anybody picking them. Not particularly juicy or tasty but free! Apples can be seen on google earth street view.
