🌳
Serviceberry
📍 Bettie Johnson Hall, 401 W Cardinal Blvd, Louisville, KY 40208, USA
🗓 Season: June · July
🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, round, turning from red to deep purple-black. Sweet and blueberry-like when fully dark. Birds eat them as soon as they ripen — check daily. Best fresh or in pies and jam.
Row of Serviceberries along alley way. Fruits are delicious and easy to pick, but only ripe (dark purple) for about a two-week window in late May. Keep an eye on them and don't miss out!
