Non-astringent types: eat when orange and firm. Astringent types: wait until very soft and wrinkled. Both fully orange when ripe.
Persimmon Tree, beautiful even after leaves have fallen, with bright orange-reddish fruit. Guessing it's American Persimmon since it is very bitter. Fruit is small due to lack of thinning.
