🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, oval, dark blue-purple. Intensely tart raw — best after first frost or for cooking. Fully ripe when skin darkens completely and fruit gives to pressure. Excellent for jam and gin.
Couple of nice heavy-producing damson trees just next to the bridge, growing out of the hedgerow. I got a few kilos off them in 2018
