🔍 When is it ripe?
Flat, dome-shaped, brilliant red berries. Very delicate — falls apart when fully ripe. Eat on the spot; does not travel. Ripe when uniformly red and separates without effort.
Large patch of thimbleberries on a little-used side trail off of the main trail. Path is narrow. You may need a machete in late season.
