Autumn-olive
📍 305 N Boundary St, Williamsburg, VA 23185, USA
🗓 Season: September · October
🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, silvery-speckled red berries in clusters. Ripe when deep red and slightly soft; tart-sweet flavour. Very high in lycopene. Good for jam; note this is an invasive species in North America.
Smaller autumn olive plants. They're unfortunately invasive but might as well eat the berries. The plants are small enough that I'm not sure how much fruit they'll produce. Not sure about the season, but another plant nearby fruits in early October, so that may be a viable time.
