Serviceberry

📍 115 SW McKenzie St, Pullman, WA 99163, USA
Serviceberry Private but overhanging
🗓 Season: June · July
🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, round, turning from red to deep purple-black. Sweet and blueberry-like when fully dark. Birds eat them as soon as they ripen — check daily. Best fresh or in pies and jam.
Small serviceberry bush growing out of juniper hedge located at the entrance of the alleyway between 115 SW McKenzie and 125 SW McKenzie. Sizable harvest in late July 2022. Alleyway is public and receives plenty of foot traffic. Hedge I believe belongs to the apartment building, but fruit overhangs into alleyway.
