Serviceberry

📍 814 W King St # 205, Boone, NC 28607, USA
Serviceberry
🗓 Season: June · July
🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, round, turning from red to deep purple-black. Sweet and blueberry-like when fully dark. Birds eat them as soon as they ripen — check daily. Best fresh or in pies and jam.
Trees in front of the Watauga County Administration Building. Very tasty fruit. It's a nice snack as you walk King Street!
