🔍 When is it ripe?
Unlike apples, pears ripen from the inside out. Harvest when the skin colour lightens and the fruit separates with a gentle upward twist. Ripen off the tree at room temperature — leave on a counter until the neck yields to thumb pressure.

it's in the yard of some apartments, no one seems notice this amazing pear tree, hundreds of fruits rotting on the ground by the time i got there 10/09
tree still very fruited as of 10/11, probably will be for another 2-3 weeks
