🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
Presumed to be a Red Rome apple tree. Former homeowner was happy to let us pick the apples, but has now moved into assisted living. Have not met current owner. Be sure to ask before you pick.
