🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, round, turning from red to deep purple-black. Sweet and blueberry-like when fully dark. Birds eat them as soon as they ripen — check daily. Best fresh or in pies and jam.
A pair of serviceberry trees near UA. There's some cedar apple rot in the neighborhood that claims most of the berries but I've been working to minimize it when it pops up.
