🔍 When is it ripe?
Uniformly coloured (red, orange, yellow, or purple by variety) with slight give when squeezed. A ripe tomato separates easily from the vine. Fully coloured fruit stored at room temperature — never refrigerate.
The tomato plant originated from a private garden on the other side of the fence but has now expanded into a patch of soil next to a trolley bay in the car park. It is the only trolley bay up against the high, wooden fences and has a fire escape ladder on the side of the supermarket building (right next to this plant). Although this property is privately owned, it is a customer car park and therefore is free-for-all.
The plant seems healthy and is protected from trolleys by the trolley bay guard rails.
