🔍 When is it ripe?
Rose hips (swollen seed pods) ripen to red or orange after flowering. Pick when fully coloured and slightly soft. Remove the seeds and hairs inside (irritating). Very high in vitamin C; excellent for syrup, tea, and jelly. Leave some for birds in winter.
all along trails in wild iris ridge park, wild roses, which are a good source of flowers, leaves, and rose hips, depending on the month. best plants are just up the hill near an apple tree and some young evergreens. (exactly by the map pin).
