🔍 When is it ripe?
Ripe when fully coloured (white, red, or black by species) and falls at a touch. Spread a sheet and shake the branches. Extremely perishable — process or eat immediately.
The river trail is lined by dozens of mulberries. They appear to be hybrids of American "red" and Asian "white" of highly variable quality. This parking spot near the interstate bridge is home to a few, including the tastiest one I know of around town.
