🔍 When is it ripe?
Background skin colour shifts from green toward yellow; seeds turn brown when ripe. Fruit separates from the spur with a gentle upward twist. Aroma develops near the base. Wild Malus fruit is often small and tart — excellent for cider and jelly.
Phenomenal heirloom-type crabapple trees in front of IE Industries, behind fence. You must ask for permission and it may not be granted, but I wanted to put it down because they are amazing trees and maybe they'll say yes to sensible harvesting. After all, it keeps the gunk off your lawn if you harvest crabapples rather than letting them rot!
