🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
2-3 loaded apple trees - easy access from apartment side - may only fruit every other year. Lady in house next to them doesn't speak much english, but said take the apples! Apples tend to be small, reddish, not good eating, but good saucing apples. Also some type of Lepiota mushrooms under the conifers near dumpster.
