Olive

📍 600 Russell Blvd, Davis, CA 95616, USA
Olive Private but overhanging
🗓 Season: October · November · December
🔍 When is it ripe?
Harvest time depends on intended use: green olives (October, firm, very bitter — require curing); turning olives (November, red-purple, half-ripe — for oil or eating); black olives (December, fully ripe, shrivelling — sweeter, for oil). All must be cured before eating — never eat straight from the tree.
theres 72 olive trees along Russel blvd. GREAT TREES WITH LOTS OF OLIVES. the school has zero problem with people picking the fruit as long as you dont use a ladder or other tools. I got about 3 bags worth with just my own hands. best trees that are shortest and easiest to harvest are in front of the muslim church. PICK BEFORE NOVEMBER which is when the school harvests. Trees are located from la rue road to A street
