🔍 When is it ripe?
Dark blue-black clusters when ripe. Cook thoroughly before eating — raw berries are mildly toxic. Ripe when all berries are dark and clusters hang downward.
Large elderberry bushes here and several more down the highway. These can be accessed from the highway or from the other side via a railway. Very healthy and productive trees.
