🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, orange to yellow fruits in large bunches near the base of fronds. Ripe when fully orange and falls freely. Flavour is apricot and pineapple; very high in pectin — excellent jelly. Short window in summer.
5th and Dock by bus stop/intersection sign and fire hydrant. Overhangs road and sidewalk. Producing fruit, in easy reach near ground. Pindo is also known as jelly palm as it has a lot of natural pectin, very tropical but fibery taste.
