Skua Central: Free store at McMurdo Station, the US Antarctic Program scientific base, on the north side of the Environmental Building. Skua is a scavenging bird in the polar regions. In McMurdo ("Mactown"), they dive bomb people coming out of the galley (cafeteria) with food. Thus, Skua is also used as a term for usable gear that you no longer need and give away for free.
