🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
These blackberries are young, about 2' tall. They sit about 5' back from plant buffer edge. Plants are in good condition. Leaves are ovate and turn dark red in fall. Caution: Stems contain many thorns, careful when touching.
