🔍 When is it ripe?
Colour fully develops (purple, red, or yellow by variety) and a waxy bloom appears on the skin. Softens slightly at the tip. Taste-test for sweetness — European plums are better slightly soft; Japanese types can be harvested firmer.
Lovely little wild plums from the tree round the side of Tesco - take the small path that cuts from the car park to the A96 and you'll see them.
