🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep red haws (berries) develop from green. Ripe when dark red and slightly soft. Edible raw but mealy — better for haw jelly, syrup, or wine. Contains a large stone. Improve after first frost.
Sits in the corner of the parking lot where the fence forms an angle. Right by the bus stop on Foster. Lots of red fruit in late November/early December.
