🔍 When is it ripe?
Turns red, yellow, or purple depending on variety; flesh gives slightly under thumb pressure. Taste-test — ripe ones are sweet-tart with little astringency. Drops easily from stem when gently twisted.
All the streets in this valley are lined with wild cherry plums. But don't eat the ones off the trees with purple leaves. Poison.
