🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep red haws (berries) develop from green. Ripe when dark red and slightly soft. Edible raw but mealy — better for haw jelly, syrup, or wine. Contains a large stone. Improve after first frost.
This hawthorn tree is loaded with fruit. Seems very healthy. Ask permission of the bank personnel before harvesting. It's on bank property and I am not sure if there are security cameras around.
