🔍 When is it ripe?
Small apples ripen from green to red, yellow, or orange by variety. Very tart raw but excellent for jelly and cider. Ripe when the colour is fully developed and the fruit lifts off with a gentle twist.
Several trees have small orange fruits right now, about the size of a thumbnail and with tiny seeds at the core. I believe these are crabapple but do your own research!
