🌳
Wine raspberry
📍 8202 Mary Lee Ln, Laurel, MD 20723, USA
🗓 Season: July · August
🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep red, sticky, wine-flavoured. Ripe when dark red and separates easily from the stem. Good raw or for making wine and jam.
Technically on county land (because of easements for the drainage pond), but behind the sign for Leishear Village, which does belong to the HOA. Park along Mary Lee Lane and walk to the back side of the sign. If you bike, the land right behind the sign is the flattest for parking your bike. The berries will be on your left, toward the pond. There is also a small white mulberry tree nearby, which in early July is ripening but not fully sweet yet.
