🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep blue-purple with a silvery bloom; stem scar (not stem) at the top. Taste is the best test — a truly ripe blueberry is sweet and has no pink flesh inside. Let the cluster go fully blue before picking the whole thing.
A large park in Tacoma maintained by volunteers. This used to be a blueberry farm. Many different varieties. Free U Pick. There are many pickers, but also lots of plants. Also several apple trees and a few crabapple trees. Blackberries in the far back corner.
