Pomegranate

📍 16000 amber valley dr. whittier, ca
Pomegranate Private but overhanging
🗓 Season: September · October · November
🔍 When is it ripe?
Skin turns from pale orange to deep red; fruit becomes angular and the blossom end flattens slightly as arils expand. Tap the skin — a ripe pomegranate sounds metallic. Heavy for its size. A slight crack at the shoulder is fine. Do not wait for it to fall.
In this alley, a large pomegranate tree hangs over a fence. Little bit of a trek on foot to get here, but well worth the fruit
