🔍 When is it ripe?
Skin turns from pale orange to deep red; fruit becomes angular and the blossom end flattens slightly as arils expand. Tap the skin — a ripe pomegranate sounds metallic. Heavy for its size. A slight crack at the shoulder is fine. Do not wait for it to fall.
Tree in someone's garden, but branches over hang sidewalk and street, and the fruit on public side is not picked. When I visited, most good fruit was at least 2.5 meters up, so some height aide may be useful
