🌳
ginkgo
📍 1 S Saginaw St, Pontiac, MI 48342, USA
🗓 Season: October · November
🔍 When is it ripe?
Female trees only: fleshy, apricot-like fruit falls when ripe, emitting a very unpleasant rancid-butter smell. Wear gloves — the outer flesh causes dermatitis. The inner nut is edible; roast or boil after removing shells. Limit intake (toxins at high dose).
2 Dwarf Gingko Trees in sidewalk area in front of the Crofoot Ballroom. Gather as many leaves as you want once the leaves fall! Gingko leaves are used in teas and tinctures.
