🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, round, turning from red to deep purple-black. Sweet and blueberry-like when fully dark. Birds eat them as soon as they ripen — check daily. Best fresh or in pies and jam.
Three serviceberry trees in the little gardens in front of the office building on the southeast corner of Oakland and Capitol. Probably not public as rhe gardens are likely owned by the building, but I have seen people forage from it with no trouble.
