🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
Ripe yield for me in Late July, Maybe the size of a blackberry box you get at the store. About half are unripe so return later to pick. The bush is overgrowing on someone elses property, it grows into someone who is presumably a gardener. There is an apple tree behind but it is on the owners property, please don’t pick it.
