If you're facing the Ballona Creek bridge from the Lindberg Park side, just to the right of the bridge entrance is a tiny grove of huge cherry trees. It's hard to notice since it's right on the edge of a huge hedge on Ocean Drive and it's in a dirt patch with no sidewalk. But it's very easy to get to and the cherries are easily visible when they are ripe. I'm not sure exactly when their "season" is since it's always hot and sunny in Culver City, but I'm writing this in late August and Google says they are ripe in "high summer."
