🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep red (or gold/yellow for golden varieties) and slides off the receptacle — the hollow centre is the tell. Does not pull: a ripe raspberry separates at a touch. Extremely fragile; use within hours of picking.
Red raspberries -- generally prolific. Fruit appears on new growth, so harvest depends on appropriate pruning after the previous year's harvest season. On private property. Must have permission or invited to harvest the fruit.
