🔍 When is it ripe?
Unlike apples, pears ripen from the inside out. Harvest when the skin colour lightens and the fruit separates with a gentle upward twist. Ripen off the tree at room temperature — leave on a counter until the neck yields to thumb pressure.
Unknown Pear tree. Tree is located in abandoned lot behind Hotel along the fence. There are some blackberry bushes tangled around it so bring something to snip them back.
Also blackberries, walnut, and what I think are choke cherries grow here.
