🔍 When is it ripe?
Round, yellow-bronze skin. Unlike European pears, eat when still firm — they do not soften at room temperature. Ripe when colour develops fully and a sweet fragrance is detectable. Crisp, juicy flesh.
Asian pear tree located 1/4 mile down the road from gate house. May have to pay the entrance fee to enter Fairfax SRA. I’m told that this tree is 60 years old and still bears fruit!Located between water tower and street on hill. Pears are ripe mid August.
