🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
Blackberry bushes lining the bottom part of this hill on Billy Frank. Great for picking as you walk along or you can bring out a tub and collect some for home.
